The Veterinary Referral Center Hospital is an AHAA accredited veterinary referral Hospital where highly specialized veterinarians with advanced training provide the next level of clinical care and treatment for your companion dog or cat. Conveniently located in Malvern, one of the western suburbs of Philadelphia, right on the well-known Main Line and fairly close to Route 202, the VRC Hospital is easily accessible to the greater Mid-Atlantic Region, and an easy drive from New Jersey, Philadelphia, Maryland, Delaware, Wilmington, and Harrisburg.
The VRC Hospital brings together several veterinary specialists who provide complete small animal patient services in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Radiology, Orthopedic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Dentistry and Oral Surgery, Soft Tissue Surgery, Neurology and Neurosurgery, and Reproductive Medicine. Veterinary specialists must complete a four year undergraduate degree, and, after a very rigorous selection process, be admitted to one of the very few schools of veterinary medicine, where they have to complete four demanding years of training in veterinary medicine. After their graduation from veterinary school they must obtain a highly sought after one (1) year general internship followed by a very selective three (3) year residency specific to surgery and/or their specialty. In addition, in order to become Board Certified they must also pass a credential review and a specialty board examination.
The VRC Hospital is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to provide you and your pet with immediate and ongoing service. Whether you are rushing in your companion cat or dog to the VRC Hospital for an emergency or have a scheduled appointment, you will have access to the entire VRC Hospital staff of experts, as the clinicians at VRC focus on communication, collaboration, and maintaining interdisciplinary cooperation. Access to all these specialists in real time allows for a quick evaluation and accurate diagnosis of your petís medical condition, and, if needed, timely surgical intervention, that maximizes your companionís chances for a successful and speedy recovery.
The VRC Hospital is home to three highly specialized veterinary practices:
• Veterinary Referral Center (VRC)
• Mid-Atlantic Veterinary Specialists (MAVS)
• Emergency Veterinary Services (EVS), a 24 x 7 emergency and critical care service located at the VRC building (for more info please see www.evsicu.com). If you are having a veterinary emergency, please call (610) 647 – 2950 immediately. EVS is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for all your pets needs.
