
Dr. Magilton was born and raised in Philadelphia.
She received a bachelor of arts in the Biological
Basis of Behavior from the
University of
Pennsylvania.
During her undergraduate years, she also began
working in the Emergency Department of Penn’s Vet Hospital. While there,
she realized that she was interested in emergency medicine.
Following graduation, she attended
Drexel
University’s College of Medicine
and received a master’s degree in Laboratory Animal Science.
She then attended veterinary school at Penn. She was
an active member in both Penn’s chapter and the national
chapter of the Student Veterinary Emergency and Critical
Care Society.
After graduation, she completed a one year internship in
emergency and critical care at the
DoveLewis
Animal
Hospital
in Portland, OR. She
is thrilled to be a part of the Emergency Department
at VRC and back on the east coast with her family.
She is interested in trauma, acid-base disturbances
and GI and endocrine diseases.
